Sky has rolled out a major update to its Sky Go app, offering Sky Glass and Sky Stream subscribers a seamless viewing experience across TVs, mobiles, and tablets.
Unified Viewing: Includes a redesigned UI inspired by Sky OS, complete with full 1080p HD streaming on compatible devices.
On-the-Go Integration: Key features include cross-device “Continue Watching,” remote TV recording capabilities, and a consolidated “My Library” hub.
Enhanced Navigation: Upgraded show pages feature cast lists and Rotten Tomatoes scores, alongside dedicated sports hubs for tracking live events and Premier League teams.
The updated app bridges the gap between home entertainment setups and mobile devices, bringing standard big-screen functionality straight to smartphones and tablets. Included free with standard TV packages, the update ensures Sky Mobile subscribers can stream content on the move without incurring extra data charges.

Streamlined Navigation and Interface
Adopting the design language of Sky OS, the new interface simplifies switching between home displays and handheld devices. A persistent navigation bar provides instant access to Home, TV Guide, My Library, Sport, and Search.
Within the app, users can browse categorized hubs for Movies, TV Shows, Sport, and Kids programming. Detailed landing pages now aggregate contextual data, such as parent safety guides for children’s movies, cast details, and critical ratings.
Cross-Device Functionality and Remote Recording
The updated “Continue Watching” row lets users pause a broadcast on their primary display and pick up at the exact same timestamp on a mobile device. Additionally, the remote recording function allows users to schedule home recordings on their Sky Glass or Sky Stream hardware from anywhere via mobile data or Wi-Fi.
Upgraded Sports Experience
Designed to handle a heavy broadcast calendar featuring Formula 1, Major golf, international cricket, and over 1,500 football matches, the dedicated Sport tab streamlines match tracking. Users can curate custom feeds by saving specific Premier League teams to “My Library” and access extra live streams via Sky Sports+.
Availability
Sky Glass and Sky Stream users can download the updated application via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Sky Q customers will continue to use the dedicated Sky Q application variant, retaining access to local box-to-device downloads for offline viewing.
