Netflix has officially confirmed The Inbetweeners Reunion Movie, with production beginning today.
The announcement ends months of speculation, reuniting original stars Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison, and Joe Thomas for their first on-screen appearance as a group in over 15 years.
Along with the announcement, Netflix released the first teaser footage showing the four lead actors back in their reprised roles, squeezing into the show’s iconic yellow 1996 Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii edition.
What Is The Inbetweeners Reunion Movie About?
While exact plot details remain undisclosed, the new film will follow adult versions of Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland, and Simon Cooper. The characters were first introduced as awkward suburban teenagers navigating school, awkward romance, and teenage friendship at the fictitious Rudge Park Comprehensive.
Original Cast and Crew Returning
The revival brings back the franchise’s complete original primary team both on screen and behind the camera:

Writers & Directors: “The Inbetweeners creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris will return to write and direct the film”

Executive Producers: “Caroline Levy, Caroline Leddy, Phil Gilbert, Suzanne Knight, Tom Jordan, Farhana Bhula, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley will serve as executive producers”
Commenting on the return to set, creators Beesley and Morris said: “It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans”
The Legacy of The Inbetweeners
Originally broadcast on Channel 4 between 2008 and 2010, the coming-of-age sitcom ran for three series, breaking ratings records and winning multiple awards.
The television show was followed by two hugely successful Film4-backed feature films:
The Inbetweeners Movie (2011): Debuted straight at No. 1 and set the record for the biggest opening weekend for a UK comedy at the time of its release.
The Inbetweeners 2 (2014): Followed three years later and similarly broke UK box office records upon release.
