Nearly a decade after gripping the nation, the BAFTA-winning hit drama Doctor Foster is making its long-awaited comeback. Daily Edit can exclusively report that the third and final installment of the sensational series is set to premiere on BBC One and iPlayer on New Year’s Day, 2027.
The upcoming five-part series reunites key original stars Suranne Jones, Bertie Carvel, and Tom Taylor as Gemma, Simon, and Tom. Joining the core group is Slow Horses actor Dustin Demri-Burns as Callum, Gemma’s new partner. Returning fan favorites also include Adam James as neighbor Neil, Thusitha Jayasundera as Gemma’s colleague Ros, and Anna Madeley as Lucy.
An expansive supporting cast has also been assembled for the series conclusion, featuring Rosalie Craig (Riot Women), Gracie Oddie-James (Grantchester), Lois Baglin (Surface), Karima McAdams (Dune: Prophecy), Anjana Vasan (Demon 79), Michael Balogun (Top Boy), Christina Balmer (House of Guinness), Justin Salinger (Hijack), and Ash Tandon (Bodyguard).
A decade after uncovering her husband Simon’s affair and executing a devastating plan for revenge, Gemma Foster is attempting to build a fresh start. Still working as a local GP and residing in her original home, Gemma is engaged to Callum and preparing for her wedding day. However, as family and friends gather for the nuptials, dark threats from her past resurface, putting her reputation, safety, and happiness back on the line.
