Masters of the Universe is the number one movie around the world on Prime Video.
The live-action Masters of the Universe movie, directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings) from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, brings He-Man back to the big screen.
Rather than taking the 1980s toy line and cartoon ultra-seriously, the film embraces a self-aware, action-comedy tone that leans into the inherent absurdity of the franchise while delivering solid sword-and-sorcery spectacle.
The Plot: From HR to High Fantasy
The story kicks off on planet Eternia. A 10-year-old Prince Adam is separated from his home world and sent through a portal to Earth during an ambush led by the evil warlock Skeletor.
Flash-forward 15 years:
The Earth Life: Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) has grown up on Earth working in Human Resources in Oklahoma City. He utilizes de-escalation skills and emotional intelligence to manage conflict, while quietly obsessing over lost childhood memories of a magic sword and distant planet.
The Return: After tracking down the long-lost Sword of Power at a local comic book shop, Adam triggers a confrontation with Skeletor’s interdimensional mercenaries. Reunited with his childhood friend Teela (Camila Mendes), he transforms into He-Man for the first time and returns to a dark, Skeletor-occupied Eternia.

Packed with vibrant colors, fluid physical choreography, heavy synthesizer scores, and electric guitar riffs, the style captures a retro 1980s aesthetic, and fans cant get enough of it.
